Tom Dwan has hit the ground running as the newest member of Team Full Tilt. He has started a new blog and his initial post shares some fun details from the life of one of the world’s highest-stakes, most successful, and youngest poker players. Tom also promises some juicy details about his game. I recommend you keep up with his blog, but these were the highlights from his first entry:
*He is an adrenaline junkie – I know that probably doesn’t sound like a revelation – “Gee, you mean a 23 year-old who plays five heads-up games of $500-$1,000 PLO at the same time is looking for a rush?” – but Dwan describes his experiences skydiving and a new interest in kite surfing.
*He describes a helicopter ride with Patrik Antonius and Phil Ivey to attend what they thought was a Jay-Z concert – It turns out it was Jay-Z OPENING for Coldplay. Hilarity ensues.
*He teases us with some details about upcoming posts – Tom is in London this week for The Full Tilt Poker Durrrr Million Dollar Challenge. He also promises, in a month or so, to share some details about the insane high-stakes matches he’s been playing on Full Tilt against Isuldur1.

Incidentally, I got together with Howard Lederer last week while I was in Vegas for the WSOP Final Table. I asked him whether, at the press conference, Dwan explained why it was taking so long for his match with Patrik Antonius to conclude. Howard told me that Patrik was part of the conference (along with himself, Tom, and Chris Ferguson) and the subject came up. “Those guys are such equity whores,” Lederer explained, “that they play each other only when there isn’t a better game. So if there’s another game going, they play that game instead.”
