I’m just not smart enough to figure out the logic.

I’ve had two pros tell me they heard Andy Beal was in the Bellagio poker room two nights ago playing a limit hold-em ring game. As far as I know, neither was in the game, but both sources have been extremely reliable in the past. One source told me they were playing $1,000-$2,000.

I was basing my belief that the Andy Beal sighting was false on all the things I thought I knew about Andy. I suppose it’s possible he was in town on business and came by on a whim and decided to play a little. Or maybe it’s something else entirely. But he told me unambiguously and in great detail how he’d never play in the Bellagio after something (not involving poker) happened there.

I’m still checking around. It’s not impossible that I’ll post again in a couple of hours with more details … or completely contradicting this. I’m just trying to pass along what I know when I know it. Obviously, I might not be getting the whole story or even the right story. But I’m not even going to hide my incorrect guesses. You can read the previous post about how I thought there was no way the rumor was true. Right or wrong, I’m trying to let you know my best information, ASAP.

   Could it be that Andy is just playing poker for poker’s sake rather than taking people out of their comfort range?

   It reminds me of the story about the billionaire that liked to play golf for $5 a side and the millionaire that wanted to play for $1000 a hole. The bet soon became $5 a side when the billionaire offered to play one hole for the millionaire’s entire net worth.

   Sometimes the beauty of the game is just playing the game and the person rather than getting all agro all of the time.

   yes this is to howard lederer i know how you feel about stress but when things that you once enjoyed become more like ajob you need to take a break and find the fun in it again sometimes going and doing something out of the ordinary like what you did in the begining you went from suit and tie to relaxed but when its turn back into a job go do something crazy and find fun in life again and dont give a @#%^ about what people think just let loose and free yourself again the books you read are fine but its very mental and controling you seem to have a free spirit and it needs to free again to feel comfortable and than you will win with ease again your a great player remember that.
