#982 – From the Desk of the Assistant to the President Princess

No doubt you’ve noticed some changes in the Blog in the last few days. Ever since I started producing The Full Tilt Poker Blog in February 2007, Uncle Tilty has been promising to redesign the page to my specifications and desires. Well, it took just thirty-eight months, but this is it.

Yep, and it took just a thousand posts.

Actually, the redesign is a work in progress. Full Tilt will be adding some more graphics and we are “negotiating” the addition of some other features.

Also in progress is a complete indexing of the Blog. Notice on the right side a long column of topics. Eventually, when you click a topic (or choose it from a list in the “Archive”) you will see everything I have ever written on a subject. Shauna is undertaking the huge job of going back through three years of posts to attach categories to each one. It is time-consuming (though I am sure rewarding) work. I’ll let you know when it is officially complete.

Speaking of Shauna . . .

Today while she was writing her Weekly Promo Update, I heard her on the other side of the office muttering, “‘Assistant’? I wish my title was something more than just ‘Assistant.’ But I guess that’s what I am (sigh).”

I’m not hung up on titles so I asked Shauna what she wanted to be called.

“I don’t know … President? Princess?”

“I suppose we would need Full Tilt’s permission to do something official, but I have no problem if, from now on, you called yourself ‘President Princess of the Full Tilt Poker Blog.’” One of the conditions of Shauna’s “promotion,” however, is that she start posting different pictures of herself with her Friday Update. When she asked why, I pointed out that she had been getting comments nearly every week about how much readers liked her picture but wanted to see additional images.

“Really?” Shauna asked, in the way all attractive women do when you tell them they are attractive and they already know it, but pretend you are the first one to notice it. “Why didn’t you tell me?”

“Because I was afraid you’d get a swelled head but since you now insist on being called President Princess, I guess it’s too late to avoid that.”

You can count on Shauna having a bigger and more visible role in the Blog, along with the other changes I hope are coming.

Now that Shauna is satisfied, I’ll see if I can put the squeeze on Uncle Tilty for a raise for moi.

    I personally like the update. And I fully support Shauna having to post new pictures every week. :)

    I know you are the best at what you do. However, I have had several miss-calls in the recent weeks. I always go back and use your ap to study it…..4x losing and one of the times I won when I should not have. Heads up.
