About Michael Craig

I was a securities attorney in Chicago for 15 years, until I retired in 1999. I moved to Scottsdale, Arizona to spend time with my wife, Jo Anne, watch my kids (Barry, Ellie, and Valerie) grow up, and maybe play a few rounds of golf. I played five rounds of golf in 2005 and 2006 combined. Instead, this is what I did.

I am the author of four books:

The Full Tilt Poker Strategy Guide - Tournament Edition
(Warner Books - coming June 1, 2007)

The Professor, the Banker, and the Suicide King - Inside the Richest Poker Game of All Time
(Warner Books - 2005)

The 5 Minute Investor
(Career Press - 2002)

The 50 Best and Worst Business Deals of All Time
(Career Press - 2000)

In addition to The Full Tilt Poker Blog by Michael Craig, I write features for
Bluff Magazine
as well as a monthly column. The features consisted of nearly 20,000 words about Andy Beal’s 2006 poker games against the pros at Wynn Las Vegas, and profiles of Andy Bloch and Chris Ferguson. During the second half of 2006, I posted 180 entries to Michael Craig’s Journal on Pokerworks.com. During late 2005 and early 2006, I wrote a column for Card Player, as well as a 10,000-word profile of Ted Forrest.

I play tournament poker regularly on Full Tilt Poker, mostly in the evening and the big Sunday events. I play under my own name and am happy to chat while playing. I won my entry to the Main Event of the 2006 World Series of Poker on Full Tilt Poker, made the final table of the first $350,000 Guarantee tournament, and once made simultaneous final tables in the $30,000 HORSE and $75,000 Mulligan events. I have won (and lost) a lot of money playing tournaments on Full Tilt Poker.
