Reader Mail: Bad Beat Bonanza

It’s mail call time! And since we have an abundance of Reader Mail flowing in, we’ll skip the big time intro this week and get straight to it. Just as a reminder, email us at pokerfromtherail@fulltiltpoker.com with any thoughts, comments, questions, or insane ramblings. We prefer the latter.

The Pros Speak: Erica Schoenberg

If you’ve never played poker or seen anything about it on TV, you might not know who Erica Schoenberg is. But if you’re reading this, most likely you have. Affectionately dubbed “Poker Babe,” she’s no stranger to performing for crowds. While she was a professional model for some time, Erica’s skills at the table have propelled her to where she is today.

Always pleasant, she was quick to respond and tell us a bit about herself. Here’s what she had to say:

The Week at FTP: FTOPS VII - What Else?

Besides being a little infatuated with acronyms, we love FTOPS because it makes our weekly roundup a piece of cake. God bless our ever-growing band of red-name Friends of Brothers of Cousins of Full Tilt Pros, but trying to keep up with the live tournament results of 50 Million (number may be exaggerated) poker players is a little testing. Give us FTOPS any day.

The Name Game

What’s in a name? How about anger, malice, and the desire to put your opponent on tilt? Most of the time it starts out nice enough, but eventually it gets heated. About the time someone rivers their one-outer to crush a well-played hand that was a huge favorite, the trash talk kicks off big-style.

Heads Up: Chris Ferguson Versus David Oppenheim

Another week has passed, so that means it’s time for another round of the Full Tilt Poker Heads-Up Challenge. 64 of our top pros will go into battle, but only one will be victorious when it’s all said and done. This week’s match features number one seed Chris Ferguson − Jesus himself − taking on the 16th seeded David Oppenheim, cash game specialist and golfer extraordinaire. As with all of these one versus 16 match-ups, the 16 seed has absolutely no chance, it’s merely a formality. Feel the excitement!

Reader Mail: FTOPS Madness

And so we commence with another round of everybody’s favorite question and answer session – Reader Mail is back. Since FTOPS VII is set to begin this evening and we are good little corporate shills, we thought it would be appropriate to pull out an all FTOPS post. Remember, these are real emails from real readers (we swear we aren’t making this up because we haven’t received a single email as of yet). If you want to get in on the fun and games, email us at pokerfromtherail@fulltiltpoker.com. On to the show:

The Pros Speak: Rafe Furst

It’s time for another round of The Pros Speak. This week we have Rafe Furst, one of the true characters of the game. While his antics with the Tilt Boys – like taking fifth place in a “Ladies Only” tournament dressed in drag – get a lot of attention and laughs, he’s up to a lot more than you might think. Check out his comments on poker, life, and having fun:

The Week at FTP: Political Poker

Cold-Decked at the Borgata Winter Open

Lee Watkinson was hoping to keep his heater going in Atlantic City this week, and truth be told, he did a fine job of burning up the felt at the WPT’s Borgata Winter Open. Unfortunately for Lee, he ran out of gas on the final table, busting out of the tournament in fifth place after his pocket 7s failed to improve against Noah Schwartz’s (really?) pocket 8s.
