It was a slow grinding week in the blogger world as the most of the big tournament players prepare for the beginning of FTOPS X which kicks off next week. There are a few interesting writeups out there plus a blogger tournament giving away a seat to FTOPS Event #24.

I don’t generally spend too much time trolling the super high limit tables on Full Tilt to watch the action but that might now have to change. A blog called “Poker From The Rail” should start spending some time railing the biggest cash games found online now. Surfing around I found a writeup on PokerNews.com that reported some incredible hands this weekend on the two big FTP cash tables.

Full Tilt pros continue to make during WPT Main Events. This time up it’s Nenad Medic making the final table of Festa al Lago held at the Bellagio this weekend. The $15,000 buyin tournament brought out a small but very tough field of 368 players with first place taking away $1,411,015.

Blogger Posts Revisited – More Lebowski Wisdom

Since the posting of HDub’s classic post with The Big Lebowski quotes went over so well, I decided to post Part II for the rest of the world to see.
After the first post I received several comments wondering when one of the OG bloggers is going to take up his keyboard again and present us with some of his wisdom. All I could really tell them is “I’ve tried. I’ve tried.” Two comments from two legends.
“When I read HDouble’s Big Lebowski post, my subconscious decided I could never be as great a thinker. I found myself trying to replicate the concept with the movie Road House. I ended up embarassing myself, my family, and Patrick Swayze. It wasn’t pretty. Since then, I’ve often wondered whether HDouble was real or just a product of my already frail and insecure mind. On the plus side, I still incorporate The Dude into my poker play, and for that I have the ghost of HDouble to thank.”

Blogger Review – Matrix Tournaments

New Matrix SnG format adds an interesting twist to multi-tabling
Last week Full Tilt introduced a new twist to the old standard SnG’s by creating Matrix Tournaments. The premise is simple, you play 4 seperate Sit ‘n Go’s against the same group of players with a prize pool for each table plus a pool for the best showing in all 4 combined. “Points” are awarded for knockouts and each player outlasted. All the information is located in the lobby and easy to follow along.

Back in the ancient days of poker blogging there was a legend who went by the handle of HDub who wrote fantastic strategy posts along with some well written stories. That blogger left the world of writing to move to the King of Online Poker sites and make at least one sketchy hiring decision (my hand is up). Sometimes HDub would take quotes from his favorite movies and apply them to poker. After the jump is one from a great movie making it one of his best movie posts.
