The Full Tilt Poker Home Game Sweepstakes deadline is August 18, 23:00 ET (details on the sweepstakes tab of the Full Tilt Poker Facebook Page), at which point one lucky fan will have to decide who he or she wants to invite to a $500 private freeroll “home game.”

In the spirit of home games, we figured it’d be a good time for a Poker from the Rail writing contest: the historical home game.

Directions: Pick one (you can do more than one if you want) of the following historical figures. Give a poker scouting report for him or her. What are his strengths, weaknesses, tells, online poker username (or FTP avatar), favorite hand, etc. – any information about the historical figure as a poker player that is clever, funny, or otherwise insightful. Leave your submission as a comment here on the blog, and please include your FTP ID so we can pay you.

Prizes: We’ll give 1,000 FTP points to the best scouting report for each player, as well as 225 FTPs for any honorable mentions.

Deadline for submissions is Sunday August 22, 9pm ET. Winners will be announced Monday. There will likely be a few similar submissions for some of the historical figures – in such cases, Rail judges will do the best they can…

Scouting report for Karl Marx

- Strengths: Unpredictable hand range, hard to put on a hand based off betting sizes (he believes all betting should be the same), pulls off some major bad beats that can make his opponents tilt.
- Weaknesses: Plays too many weak hands, believes that the premium hands in poker are conspiring against the weaker hands and that the premium hands are luring those who play them into a false consciousness of security. Unfortunatly for Marx he believes the power lies with the weaker hands because there are a lot more weaker hands than premium hands.

My FullTilt screen name is JBCD71….My Historical figure i am picking is Jesus….Number thou shall not steal…he lives by this ….so it would make him a phenomanol player….cause he wont bluff…and everyone knows when u bluff your vunerable to losing…so Jesus wont be vunerable in that aspect of his game,like many players who bluff and try to buy the pot.Also he knows everyone,especially there tells.Cause they are always praying to him.Also Jesus will always three bet ,four bet,even five bet and on and on.He has no value for money,which will make him a kamikaze at the table.Being loose and aggressive.His favorite hand is Aces,cause he likes to go all in when he has the best starting hand before the flop.What really makes him so good is he knows what cards are coming up before they come up.He has a amazing ability to see whats coming before it does and can read the cards well.He even sometimes tells his opponents what card is coming and is always right.This move seems to scare his opponents into folding.Last but not least he always tells his opponents he loves them,which throws them for a loop.When was the last time any poker player hear his opponent say I love you.Johnny ACES

stays in with any draw, because when the river parts, the miracle card is always there. Likes to lead out in hopes that many will follow. Primary weakness seems to be when up against kings. Generous to a fault. But ask ye shall receive the call, and bad beat for which you so richly deserve.

whose actions shaped European poker playing in the early 19th century.

Dressed army green avatar ,Bonaparte rose to prominence under the First Poker Republic, and led successful campaigns against the First and Second Pros.

In 1799, he staged a coup d’état by playing 10/2 suited ( long before Doyle, even tho they are about the same age ,hmmmm ) and installed himself as First WSOP winner:five years later the FPR proclaimed him Red Pro.

Strengths – Great presence at the table , An empire present with him always , great at capturing aces.
weakness – a big weakness is blondes , genghis often breaks out in cold sweats and goes on tilt when a blonde sits down , anger issues – if he loses it has been know for him to bring out a sword and use it.

Favourite hand – It is known that Genghis is a big fan of 8 – 2 of Hearts.

His strengths: he has a very good capacity to read the opponents, he exactly knows what cards they have.
Tells: he speaks very much at the table, saying that he is the son of the server. When he have very good cards he says oftens: “Thank you dad”, and a strange light appear on the table; so when you see this, you know he has good cards..
When someone at the table ask him to make a deal in HU, he answers: ” I’m JC, if you want i can multiply the prize, so you win double prize”..

Strength: Ability to make the most of less than premium hands. With the ability to lead the Colonies against England, he has to be a good stratagist.

Weakness: He “Can’t tell a lie”. No bluffing with him. What he bets is what he has.

Tells: When he has a monster, he snaps his wood teeth together anxiously.

Favorite hand: AK. He likes to be in charge of a hand and AK is a great way to lead into battle.

First of Jesus is a very tight to the belt kind of player he is with out a doubt a ‘nit’ when it comes to his poker game. Saying this his strengths are he plays very solid mathematical based poker and almost always gets his chips in way ahead. His tightness is also his downfall. If Jesus doesn’t catch good cards he usually is not creative enough to find a way to accumulate chips. His other weakness is his undeniable kindness. He does not bluff ever because he would feel to bad if he did.

Jesus has no tells when you look into his eyes all you see is a kindness

Strengths: Granted with the power of resurrection, he can not remain card-dead for more than 3 hands. He also has the power to walk over the river, so he will never lay the hand down till the river has been passed.

Weaknesses: In the past, Jesus was constantly chased by the Romans because of his unbelievable miracles and so called blasphemy. Now Jesus seems to have some disputes with the Full Tilt Moderators & Support for constantly performing incredible river miracles!

Tells: Odd tendency to start dealing out bread and wine whenever he is bluffing.

Favorite Hand: 76, suited.

Strengths: Is the most aggressive player at the table whenever he sits down. Does exceptionally well against players wearing red. Very good at trapping opponents.

Weaknesses: Inability to tell a lie prevents the General from bluffing. Ever. When an opponent draws out on them, Washington slams the table and shouts “Benedict Arnold” at the dealer.

Tells: His false teeth rattle when ever he hits the flop.

Notable Fact: General Cornwalls surrendered at Yorktown only after having his Pocket Aces cracked by General Washington’s set of Kings he hit on the River.

Seat 1: Napoleon (the_general) is known for his frequent all in reraises. Sometimes he has the nuts… other times he just has the balls to make the bluff. His custom avatar is a general.

Seat 2: Karl Marx (workingman) is known for putting the other players on tilt with his endless conversations at the table. Karl often checks when he should be raising. When he makes the final table he tries to talk the other players into making a deal and sharing the chips equally. His custom avatar wears coveralls and a hard hat.

Seat 3: Jesus (givepeaceachance) is a very passive player who always raises with a dead hand. If he’s raising on the river you should always make the call. His custom avatar bears a striking resemblance to Chris Ferguson.

Weaknesses: Totally fascinated by full tilt’s random card generator. Often will play crappy hands just to see if he can crack the RNG programming.

Notes: His theory that the sun was the center of the universe was very controversial but paled in comparison to his statement that Phil Ivey was not of this earth.

Genghis Kahn

Genghis is known for playing loose and aggressive poker and while he had an amazing success all over Asia he still lacks some of the basic fundamentals of playing poker.
For example he is cretin that firing two bullets will crush a full boat. Not so true.
If he’s on a tilt he usually orders to kill a all bunch of people, and when he’s not on a tilt…well he pretty much does the same thing, so maybe its not much of a tell.
Favorite Hand: for some reason 4 7, fun story about that hand:
He once played heads up with the king of Siam, he got his favorite 4 7 and raised heavily pre-flop, the king called . Flop came 5 6 8, Kahn smiled and went all in. the king called with pocket kings. Turn card was another 7, River was King. The King of Siam won the hand. There was no more Siam.
