From Two Plus Two: Hot Dog Eating Prop Bet

In something of a variation on Phil Ivey’s $1m vegetarian prop bet, a Two Plus Two poster has bet his friend he can eat 450 hot dogs in the month of April. Hero (a Canadian college student) is risking $1k to win $1.5k and is eating all the hot dogs live via webcam. He is allowed four, natural vomits throughout the month.

Status as of April6 (ED=Expected Dogs, i.e. a winnings pace):

Keep reading for Cliff’s Notes on: the principal characters, notable sub-plots, typical comments, and current prop bets between AlCantHang and myself.

Principal characters:

- Foundinflood (Hero): eating 450 hot dogs in April to win $1.5k; humble, understated

- Silent_One (original poster): wagering $1.5k to win Hero’s $1k; good man, thorough

- chrismystero (roommate of Hero/OP, official hot dog judge): reputed to be too attractive to appear on webcam

- TeddyKGB45 (#1 Fan, de facto Hero cornerman): gentleman

Notable sub-plots:

- On page 37, poster ToTheInternet offers 25 to 1 “that someone can’t hunt down and consume an entire adult bison in a 2 week period.” It is later determined that an adult male would gain roughly 20lbs a day attempting to do so.

- Beginning on Page 49, posters comment on recent footage and webcam chat in which posters offer Hero’s female friend $15.26 to disrobe on camera.

Most comments can be categorized as one of the following:

- Nutritional analysis of hot dogs

- Health recommendations/predictions for Hero

- Prop betting between posters on the outcome

- Peremptory declarations regarding the possibility, impossibility, or desirability of eating 15 hot dogs a day for a month

Current prop bets between AlCantHang and myself (1 unit = hot dog + beer):

Al wins 1 unit for each of the following occurrences:

- Hero fails

- Hero dies trying by April 21

- Hero dies prior to May 1 due to choking, heart attack, falling, or a combination of the three (e.g. starts choking, has heart attack, falls and cracks head open)

I win if:

- Hero succeeds

- Hero is awarded an honorary doctoral degree from an accredited college OR is propositioned for conjugal relations explicitly because he succeeded in eating so many hot dogs

- Hero dies due to suicide or hot dog induced delirium (e.g. hot dogs alter Hero’s blood’s PH level and Hero walks into moving truck)

- Hero is assassinated by roommate or 2p2 poster who has faded him in a side prop bet
