Poker From The Rail
a Poker Blog brought to you by Full Tilt Poker
Posted by Dave McCarthy | Filed under Bloggers Corner
With Event #1 of MiniFTOPS XVII – a $20+2 $200k guarantee hosted by Phil Gordon – beginning Wednesday September 8 at 21:00 ET, we thought it’d be a good time for a mini writing contest here at Poker from the Rail.
Prizes: We’ll give our three favorite submissions an entry into the MiniFTOPS Main Event, a $70+5, million dollar guarantee hosted by Carlos Mortensen. 4th and 5th place get bought into the Razz event (sorry).
Topic: Why should Poker from the Rail stake you? Answers can be ridiculous (“I invented online poker…”) or serious (“I’ll give all my winnings to charity…”) or a combination thereof (“I invented online poker and will give all my winnings to charity.”)
Directions: Submit your entry as a comment in this post at Poker from the Rail. As this is a mini contest, please keep your submissions under 200 words. Please sign your entry “FTP ID: _____ “.
Deadline: Only entries submitted before 23:59 ET, Sunday, September 12 will be considered. Poker from the Rail judges will confer Monday, and winners will be announced Tuesday.

September 7th, 2010 at 6:17 pmPoker from the rail should pick me because I am an all round poker player, I don’t just play Holdem I try to test my ability and knowledge of all the different games out there, which has allowed me to sattelite into some big online tickets using freerolls, so I will be able to handle the pressure of a tournament like that, I have won a $500 bounty for knocking out a pro and have made profit without investing much, I am inventive and creative with my play and I try my hardest every single tournament

September 7th, 2010 at 6:20 pmFirst, thanks for all the good reads you post. Some are good to read, others are helpful.
I would like Poker from the Rail to stake me for a couple of reasons.
!) My son plays all over the country and I never see him. This may be a way to see him and play against him
2) My wife and I were married just over a year ago. right after, we both lost our jobs. So, I can only play freerolls, which are fun, but sooo many donks play them as well. It is hard to play a good game that way.
Thanks for everything!!

September 7th, 2010 at 6:23 pmMy reasons are fairly simple. I dont ask for stakes, and I s upport FTP FB. I stay active, and dont bash the site. I dont think its rigged, I simply cant afford to buy into most big events. Also when I am running good, I like to giva away seats to the Autism charity tourney, run by Karina Jett, again for selfish reasons, as my son has autism.

September 7th, 2010 at 6:23 pmFulltilt should stake me casue I said so. I figure since iam cousins with phil ivey the brass at FTP will pick me anyways. If I win I will take the money and run all the way to the WSOP circut. Once I become famous I will become a member of the FTP pro poker team for free. Then I will stake the person that picked me for this Ftop to a WSOP main event seat… I promise. Nats2009

September 7th, 2010 at 6:27 pmI’m a college student at a university which costs a large amount of money, unfortunately my single income family often runs into financial problems with paying for my education and consequently I am forced to take out several loans. If I could get staked into the main event I run the chance of at least being able to win an amount of money which could significantly pay off part of my education. A stake in to this tournament could potentially be an investment to a young man’s education.

September 7th, 2010 at 6:34 pmBasically, the number one reason I should be staked is because I want to pull a “Ferguson” and turn $0 into $10k. I’ve already cashed in 2 of the Rush Poker Freerolls pretty recently (one for HE and one for PLO), but this stake COULD put a nice dent into that $10k.
Either way, I hope you’ll be hearing more of me in the future. I’m determined! I’m pretty good at most poker games (including Razz – one of favorites actually)! ..And I wanna do this stuff for a living.
I hope you will consider me! And please check out my website..

September 7th, 2010 at 6:57 pmI should be given the chance cuz I’ve got more potential in my mouse clicking finger than the rest of these people do in their entire poker face. Now that I’ve finally turned 21, my goal is to attend the WSOP, but with my bankroll as low as it is, I’ll never get to Vegas. With a chance at thousands of dollars, I could finally achieve that goal, and become a Full Tilt Pro in the process, which would make the money even sweeter. Please give this proud new daddy a chance to live his dream and help fun his daughters college fund at the same time. It will be an investment you won’t regret…that is until my Pocket AA’s get beat by a lousy J 6 again.

I feel like I should be staked to this years miniFTOPS main event because it would be a great experience for a long time low stakes player. September 7th, 2010 at 7:28 pmI would like you to stake me because I started playing at Full Tilt when it first come online. Back in the days when there was only two Daily Freerolls, Prize Poll was $10 and capped at 100 players, some nights it would’nt even fill-up. Then I had a miss fortune and had to go away to “Camp-Kick-A-Rock” now I’m back and WOW. The freeroll situation is out of control, USA nightly 7500 players. Long road to get to the $$$$. I need a stake, to get bank roll and get back on the felt. Im not going to BS you, I need the chance to make some real $$$. No Job, living at home with Mom and Dad, plenty of bill’s to pay not to mention the back child-support. May the Flop come your way, and the RIVER Deliver you GOLD.

2. You need one token silly player!
3. It would give me an excuse to take a day off work.
4. If I won, all my friends who don’t play online will join me on full tilt.

September 7th, 2010 at 7:39 pmI think I should get staked into the Mini FTOPS because I’m a decent player and I’ll take down my first MiniFTOPS event. I’ll do so good I’ll make the other players cry and never play a game with me again. When I win, I’ll transfer $5 to the other 9 players at the final table for a job well done. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. This is why Full Tilt should stake me.

September 7th, 2010 at 8:56 pmWell, I will be completely honest. I have no weddings to pay for, or child support or anything like that. I’m just a regular guy at the micro stakes with a passion for online poker.
Ever since I started poker, and started railing some big tournaments, it was my dream and goal to one time make history like that myself. If I get bought into a mini-ftops event, I won’t do it solely for the money. It’s a pinacle in the life of a poker player to play such a big tournament and it’s a wonderful experience. Getting such an opportunity would really be undescribable.
I will also guarantee 10-15% of my possible winnings to the Belgian ‘Stand up against cancer’ fund. The rest will be used to further boost my poker’career’.
Thank you and good luck to all.

September 7th, 2010 at 9:25 pmI could say I deserve it more than anyone else, play the hard luck life story sympathy “cards” (god knows I could) BUT FT should stake me because as an Aussie, hard core Sydney Roosters (Rugby League) fan and as such believe I have an affinity angle. We (the Roosters) got the wooden spoon last year, however since Full Tilt became a sponsor this year, we have had the biggest form reversal in the comp and are in the finals now with a red hot shot at being premiers. My affinity is that if I am staked here (“quasi” FT sponsorship), my rooster avatar will also have huge run onto the final table.

September 7th, 2010 at 9:44 pmWell i wouldn’t say i invented online poker but i am certain i could hold my own versus the pros. I have made it to the casting pool for the big game at pokerstars and also the casting pool for the million dollar challenge. Wasn’t lucky enough to make either show but that doesn’t mean i don’t posses the talent to achieve greatness in the world of poker. I watch and study every major player and i have quite a list of tells of all of them which i hope to be able to use to my advantage one day if i ever face them. Unfortunately not all of us are rich so an opportunity like this would not only benefit myself but a lot of people in my family everyone likes a rags to riches story look at what chris moneymaker did for the sport of poker and mine would be an even greater story i am not like a lot of people i am humble enough to lay down even a hand i believe is good because sometimes ur just second best in the hand. A lot of people lose because they let their emotions get in the way. Poker for me has been a way to channel into my discipline and focusing abilities and a great opportunity to learn how to deal with both successes and failures in life and at the card table.

September 7th, 2010 at 10:05 pmI should be staked in the event for a few reasons. I just got engaged, so most of my money is tied up in the wedding. We both deserve a fun, wedding. Also, because I need to pay for paramedic school, and then a fire fighter academy. My goal in life is to have my fire fighting checks donated to charity, with poker as my source of income.

I have been a continued supporter of Fulltilt for years now both as an affiliate as well as a player.and would love to be afforded the opportunity to play in the Mini Ftops event. September 8th, 2010 at 1:54 amYou should buy me in because I’m starting to get it. I was playing limit today, flopped a pair of queens; ace kicker. Everyone checks to me, bet, two callers. Turn is a seven to match a flopped seven and the first player Bets quick. I know he has a seven. I know he has a 7. But you know that voice that says ‘I can hut my queen’ and ‘He’s bluffing, he’s just playin’ the seven’ Now, it was only a few dollars (cause I called him heads up on the river as well) and I ended up a bit at the end of the session, But of course he had the 7. I knew he had the seven and I knew I didn’t have enough queens to stop him, but I wanted that pot and I was convinced that wanting a pot is the same as winning it. It happens to everyone, but it happens to losing players more. And I am learning.
You should bankroll me because I am plugging my leaks and I can win your tournament.
Oh, and I’ll give mall my winnings to charity.

September 8th, 2010 at 8:11 amMy grandfather taught me how to play poker when I was 9. After he died I stopped playing because no one my age knew how to play the game. That was until 3 years ago(I’m 22 now). A few friends invited me to play and I said yes, because I had nothing better to do. I quickly remembered the rules and owned them by the end of the night. After that I started reading books about poker all the time. As I live in Bulgaria it’s hard to find someone with chips to play the game the right way. I live in a poor family and my parents almost manage to pay for my college fee, let alone let me have money for expensive stuff like chips and etc. So basically the only way for me to play is online. Last month I deposited 10 dollars into my FTP account, which I’ve been saving for a couple of months, but lost them quickly due to my lack of experience at the cash tables. My dream would be to play at the tournament and do my best to win it, so that I can help my parents with the bills, buy chips to play with my friends and be more self-confident. I promise to donate 10% of any prize money I win to a yet undecided charity organisation.

September 8th, 2010 at 10:12 amI should be staked because: I have been toiling on FT since the very beginning, I usually play the mid level limit tourney’s $55+5 sng’s, I have shown a steady improvement online over the years. Now I do not claim to be a pro, and I am not a full time player like some of the posters, but I do play regularly and successfully. By being staked in this tournament you could propel me, the unknown guy into elite status in the online community and advertise the heck out of the fact that I was staked by Poker From the Rail into online poker history. Who knows, if I keep my roll up, you could see me on ESPN next year wearing your gear in the WSOP. Which I would of course do, if I were staked by you. I will now reveal to you a secret that I have kept from you lo these many human “years”, but which I now disclose as a test of your wisdom and loyalty. I am the God of Thunder. Yes, mortals. I am Thor. I will allow you to stake me in your “poker series.”
Were you to do so, it would please me greatly, and your foes would fall before my withering gaze and my brawny hews. Your taps will flow with honey mead and your iceboxes will never lack for fine pork products. Stake me not, and I will cleave your skulls with my mighty hammer, so that you must keep your hoody up during tournaments, or verily risk the laughter of your foes.
Mead and meat? Or disgusted mirth aimed at your hammer-split noggin? The choice is obvious . . . but the choice is yours.

Matthew Zicafoose Says:
September 8th, 2010 at 12:46 pmOnce I was playing 1/2 NL at the Tropicana in Atlantic City during the summer of 2007. I sat down, and just a few moments later none other than Darvin Moon showed up at my table, playing seat 7 opposite of me in seat 3. I asked him his name because he seemed like a pro, and I thought he said “Darren” Moon. Later, I got my KJ all-in with the board reading A-K-J and he called, holding Q-10 for the straight. The turn was a blank, and the river was another Jack, bad beating Mr. Moon. That night, he said that he was going to go to Wheeling Island and try to qualify for the WSOP once they opened their table games, which happened in West Virginia in 2008.
I learned two things by that session: when you’re beat, never count out that luck can still prevail, and that miracle runs and winning can happen for those who are willing to take a chance, as Mr. Moon did. His amazing run solidified the fact that the average good card player can become a superstar, even if he does hit a bump in the road from time to time.

September 8th, 2010 at 12:50 pmI don’t play in MTT often – frankly I don’t generally have the time to dedicate 6-7 hours (if not more) to making a deep run. But I like the challenge, and like every other small stakes guy, I daydream about playing in the WSOP, travelling the tournament circuit and living the life of a tournament pro. But that ain’t my life.
I’ve got a three-year old son, a mortgage, and lots of other responsibilities. Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t actually trade it for the life of a travelling tournament pro. I love my son, I love my wife, hell, I love my life. But you see, what little free time I have is just about to disappear. My wife is pregnant with twins. Yep, that’s right, I dealt her a pocket pair. And once they arrive, the odds of me playing in a big MTT tournament will be about as small as hitting a runner-runner straight flush to beat flopped quads.
So do the right thing, FTP. Give this guy a chance. Stake me in the MiniFTOPS Main Event and help fulfill a mini version of my poker fantasy.

September 8th, 2010 at 1:30 pmPoker from the Rail should stake me because I’m tired of being a vampire. I have lived for millenia amongst humans and I have grown tired of this mundane existence. I have tried on several occasions to stake myself, but I always chicken out at the last minute. In one attempt, I fabricated a wooden stake from several hundred toothpicks (the fancy ones with the little bits of colourful plastic on the end) bound by duct tape. Then I climbed on top of a farmhouse and leaped towards the toothpicks. Sadly, I missed my heart and ended up puncturing my liver. Being a vampire who also enjoys the scattered alcoholic beverage, this made my desire to be staked even stronger. And I assure you that other methods do not work. I tried drinking from a church toilet, eating twelve garlic fingers and sunbathing in a very small Speedo. I got diarrhoea, bad breath and a horrible sunburn, but I’m still here. This leaves me with two options: either you stake me, or I move in with the nice folks from Jersey Shore. Both would be equally painful and effective. FTP ID: ThePicotrain

September 8th, 2010 at 1:34 pmPoker From the Rail should stake me because this is my main event. I was laid off October 31, 1998…what a great Halloween. Since then I have been scraping by and working construction jobs while trying to build my bankroll through low limit tournaments. I seem to be a statistical anomaly when I get all my chips in as a 80/20 favorite. I lose 80 percent of those hands and 20 percent of the time they hold up. Being staked will change that and give me the push I need to make a deep run.

September 8th, 2010 at 2:23 pmI always found it weird that whenever my dog would see me enter the computer room, she would follow shortly once she heard the login sound of full tilt poker. She would sit behind me as i played and watch me lose hand after hand. It wasnt until about 3 weeks ago, when coming home from work, i caught her, my loving dog, sitting in my chair, raising all in with 2,7 off suit with a flush and straight on the board…..she lost. The b.tch, no pun intended, had gambled away ALL MY winnings….
Since then, i have opened up her own account and now she’s on a roll…so please, help me win my money back from my dog…
thanks in advance!

September 8th, 2010 at 3:08 pmMy name is James Young, and throughout my lifetime, I’ve discovered there are only two things I’m any good at: writing and playing poker. This contest was practically designed for me!
Both of my worldly talents could also use a fresh dose of motivation. My writing development was recently sidelined when my financial aid was mysteriously canceled two days before my final term at Villanova University, and my poker skills suffered greatly as a result. Winning this contest can successfully rebuild my dreams of achieving great success in the online poker world, and I can use my winnings to pay for school! It’s a win-win, totally positive EV situation!
In closing, think of me as a kidnapped Princess Leia, and yourselves as the only remaining Jedi in the universe. You might not know it yet, but our destinies are intertwined in a mad dance that will take us across the cosmos, telling a tale of love, loss, and redemption that will resonate throughout history, touching and inspiring all who hear of our epic adventures. “Help me Full Tilt Poker, you’re our only hope!”FTP ID: Flopmearoyal12 Word Count: 180

September 8th, 2010 at 3:12 pmI would also pledge to give 20% of winnings to Bad Beat on Cancer. The other 80% I would spend on my 2 year old daughter. And when I say “spend on my 2 year old daughter” I mean I would keep it on FTP and try to grind my way to a ME Seat in the 2011 ME. After I end up in the Nov 8 of the 2012 ME, I would again donate 20% of that to Bad Beat on Cancer. With the left over 80% I would buy myself a plane, so I could fly and see my daughter. And when I say, myself a plane, I mean, her. So she could come see the ESPN studios in person when I am a featured guest on the Poker Edge with Phil Gordon.

September 8th, 2010 at 3:19 pmI think that I should be staked in because I will willingly take fourth or fifth place because my favorite game is RAZZ….I love to play the low hand games and I think I could do well in this tourney. It would be a nice challenge and also show me if in act I am as good of a RAZZ player as i would like to think I am. Plus who would willingly take on the challenge of playing one of the games that most people avoid or sit out on during horse tourneys….although I have to admit it is fun watching them think they have the best hand with a full house or straight to the ace, only to lose to A,3,4,5,7. Its fun to picture them with a confused look bewildered looking at their hand history wondering “What, but how, why I had a boat……” Its evil I know but oh so enjoyable.

September 8th, 2010 at 3:32 pmHello, my name is Brandon Ray Hurley and the reason you should stake me into the miniFTOPS main event is because I represent the average guy. Some of the people in this contest are going to try to sway your vote by saying that they are the best poker player ever or make up some ridiculous story to get you to laugh, but i’m simply going to say that I love this game. Poker is like a second language to me and there is nothing I love more than to raise limpers before the flop or recognize weakness and bluff a player with squuadoosh. Do i play all the time? No, but I do work hard each day to provide for my family and when I come home i like to sit at my laptop for a couple hours and play a few tourneys. For this reason I believe you should pick me to play in the miniFTOPS main event because not only do I think I can win, but because I believe I deserve it.

If I was to receive a main event ticket by some virtue of chance, I would put some of my winnings (knock on wood) towards a freeroll for poker from the rail, and I would be happy to do a guest post or two. I also just want to thank Dave, Michael and Al for doing all these contests recently, they arent necessary at all and most people take for granted these things and they shouldn’t. Yet whenever I see a boldly painted face card, or see their shifty eyes, or see their wild fright wigs, I always break out into a cold sweat, plus my heart feels like it’s gonna’ jump right on out of my chest. I start to sweat profusely, my stomach turns into jelly, I get nauseated, and I’m always scared I’m gonna’ hurl. This is why I don’t do sit n go’s and cash games at the casino…. Chances are more than likely that the suicide king will take one more with him ….my stack.

I’m ready for FTP to have an ex-baseball player in Red Pro format like P’Stars and Orel Hershisher.
Back me, I’ll win. And I’ll give 25% of my winnings to any sports charity that FTP’s bloggers want me to.
And then I’ll be playing in the ME next year with my new winnings, and will kick ass and take names rocking the FTP gear.

September 8th, 2010 at 8:45 pmP.F.R. should stake me in the main event because I have no life whatsoever, and I live with my mom. Also if you guys staked me I would film my entire tournament from start to finish(with commentary), edit it down, and give you guys a big thank you at the end when I win 279K. I have literally mastered the art of poker freerolls. The first thing I would do if I won the FTOPS M.E. is flip off every cop in the town that I live in. The second thing I would do is start my own film company. Third thing I would do is run for president and give Full Tilt Poker the exclusive rights to American poker websites. I also understand that there are a lot of people that are full of crap on Full Tilt and will call you with anything, hey sometimes I fold AA on a danger flop. I had a few winning days where I cashed in two big tournaments and won about 2000 between the two of them. I cashed a little of it and learned a great lesson in poker budgeting after I lost the rest of it.

Now don’t get me wrong, there were some great post in there. Sitting here at my computer thinking of a reason why Full Tilt should stake me is giving me a head ache and makes me wonder what would be so special about me. Well, I’ll be honest, more than likely I won’t make it into the money because I’ve never played in a tournament at that level. On the other hand I did watch Jamie Gold tear up a WSOP a couple of years ago and we all have to agree he played terrible. Durrr is known for making Donkey moves. so what makes them so special. Are they really better players than the micro limits players? Do you think they can make better reads than yourself? Well I’ll tell you what I think. They had an oppurtunity to build a serious bank roll and they ran with it. I hope you’ll pick me to give me the same chance. Thank you. FTP Shawkid

September 8th, 2010 at 11:37 pmI don’t think I need this ticket…I WANT IT! I built my full tilt bankroll up from $0…earning a few cents here and there in freerolls. Eventually I had $.93 and played the $.90 double shootout satellite to the double deuce. I will never forget that afternoon. I won that satellite and my poker bankroll has never looked back. I currently turned that $0.00 into about $650 and continue to build. I am not rolled for the miniFTOPS events, as I try to follow basic ring game, sng and mtt buy-in management rules. This ticket would give me the opportunity to test my great patience and tourney skill in a large, higher level buy-in. I love playing my poker here on full tilt poker and hope to continue my success here for many years.

September 8th, 2010 at 11:43 pmI awaken, dream, close my eyes. A sunny day in the city park and you are there, the way you were ten years ago, when we read Anthony and Cleopatra under the trees and spent hours talking about the colour orange. When my car stopped running and you brought it back to life by kissing the hood. Tires over pavement, the rounded concrete steps of your apartment.
We’re playing poker and you’re dealing all kinds of pocket cards: twos, sevens, suited aces. These hands are strange and full of possibility.
You look at me and smile: “If you win, you will wake up and we’ll still be together.”
It is only after several minutes that I realize we haven’t seen a flop yet, and we never will.
(I am writing my first collection of short stories. If you sponsor my entry into a MiniFTOPS event, I will use any money that I win to help me pay the bills while drafting a story about poker. Whether I cash or not, I’ll credit Full Tilt as a supporter when my book is published, and I’ll send you a copy!)

September 9th, 2010 at 12:30 amWhy should you stake in the FTOPS Main Event? I could tell you another sob story of how I just got married and we are both in college racking up tremendous debt, but you really don’t care. I could promise that I would win it if you staked me, but if I was that good you shouldn’t have to stake me. What I will tell you is that I’ve played for 3 year, mostly freerolls; I have won a tourney for over $1k, live. I am a consistent player placing top 10% in freerolls time after time, and making it to the money some of the time. If I had to pick a weakness it would be bankroll management, which is why I am not staking myelf. Now I don’t play everyday and when I do play its only 1 or 2 a day. If you stake me I can promise you consistent good poker playing. If I get lucky and do well; 10% would go to me for poker, 25% toward my loans, 50% into savings 15% would go my local food pantry. If nothing else I’m also a great razz player, as a good poker player should be.

September 9th, 2010 at 10:42 amThis is a story about a poker player named X,
She lost with AA and thought they were hexed.
She limped, she raise and folded a few,
She played so much poker she forgot what else to do.
She went to a live game and got whipped real big,
So maybe live and online is rigged?
Changing gears she played 27 off suit and out of position,
Flopped a boat and had a big decision.
Scratching her head, Should I slow play?
Or take the pot down and call it a day?
Well with 27 in hand and having flopped boat,
I decided to not donkey around and shove like a goat.
I pushed in my chips cause I had the nuts,
Only to get rivered by quad ducks!
Morale of this story…..don’t be a goat, be a donkey or a duck. X -

September 9th, 2010 at 4:33 pmI should be given the opportunity to compete in this game because of one simple word that escapes so many people online, Discipline. I have proven I have the discipline in order to succeed through my life experiences of serving three combat deployments while serving in the U.S. Army for the past 7 years. I have been to war and back, but the situation that most proves my discipline at the poker table is a bad beat that never happened. In a three-person, unraised pot, me on the BB with 8-9 of hearts, flop ran 7-10-J, all loving hearts. Watching one of my opponent’s tells I immediately put her on holding A-high flush draw. I knew that I could not be beat on this hand and decided to milk her, hoping she would catch her flush on the turn or river. Turn came K hearts. Sure enough, she leads out the betting after I checked just as she would after hitting her flush. I raise and she follows on with a re-raise to confirm my beliefs. I call to see the river knowing that she will easily commit the rest of her chips as soon as her action. On the river, fully ready to shove my chips as soon as the card hit the table, the dealer turned up the Q-hearts to now improve my hand to a K-high straight flush. The unfortunate detail though is that this card also turned her A-high flush into the Royal Flush. I checked, and as I knew would happen she shoved the rest of her chips into the middle. had this been in a casino with a bad-beat jackpot on the line I would have called instantly and collected a fat paycheck. Instead, without hesitation I display my 9-hearts to show my monster hand, then throw my cards into the muck and avoid giving away the bulk of my stack. Out of frustration for not getting paid any more than she did, she indeed showed the Royal flush and succeeded to completely melt down on tilt and was then out of the tournament shortly thereafter.

September 9th, 2010 at 4:36 pmYou should stake me because last (and only) time I played in the MiniFTOPS Main Event I was on the bubble with less than two hundred players left (out of 14,000) until cashing with a decent stack and was put out while holding pocket Aces all-in preflop against Jacks. Months later, that third jack still haunts me.
If I wouldn’t have lost that 80%+ hand, I’d have had a fairly large stack and the money received could have netted me enough to be able to play full time, or at least increase the limits I can play. I would really like another chance at this monster.

Now then, Poker From The Rail should sponsor me for a number of superb reasons. The first being that I am a super-human poker player, someone that no one has ever heard of. I’m waiting for the right time to pounce on my poker prey. My time has come, I will punish all that come near.
I’m also the only player EVER on Full tilt poker to make absolute hero calls, over and OVER again! I’ll make calls with Queen high and WIN. That’s how good I am.
Finally, there is no one on this planet that can read a player like I can. I scare everyone that is sat at my table, punishing them with my brutal stare. From time to time I can honestly say that I scare myself how good I am.
Well, I’ve told you all the reasons you should pick me, if you don’t choose me I think you are absolutely ‘ludacris’. I’m sure you will make the right choice.
May the peace be with you forever and always.

September 9th, 2010 at 6:49 pmThere are many reasons you should choose to stake me in the MiniFTOPS main event. First, if spelling and grammar count, I have already won. If so many people do not know how to properly use present participles, how can they be expected to execute a check raise bluff on the river. Second, I’m a very lazy individual who is always looking for the easy way out, and winning this event would be a very easy way to make some money. And, it’s for a very worthy cause, myself.

Seriously? Because I can calculate my outs w/o having to use my fingers and/or toes. Because I’m capable of using the rule of 4 and 2 + The Phil Gordon Pocket Pairs Principle. I can fold AK. I don’t’ like to but I can.
Oh yeah and it’ll almost make up for every time I’ve been called a f**king c**t, crazy b**ch, and whore just for winning a hand and/or being aggressive. Almost.
Also because although female and reasonably attractive I have no desire to pose spread eagle in a bikini for some stupid male fantasy in a poker magazine which means I’ll never get sponsored by any site anywhere!
Did I mention that I can spell poker? Really I can. Watch this:

Because I do the best poetry too…
Here:
Texas Hold’em
bet or fold’em.
Make your stand
with two in hand.
Connect with flop
to reach the top.Omaha, you get them four,
and try to match with five on floor.
Take two of yours and three from table
to get a hand for winning able.
Here is the action here are the rushes.
You see here many fulls and flushes.7-cards stud with open four.
Watching them is key to score!
The more you see, the more you know.
Your betting way might be a show !?
But at the end your better friend,
with the stronger winner hand.Razz you play to ain’t get any
then you earn your first penny.
The lower eight
are your best mate.
In the end the lower hand
from up above will make a stand.
And don’t forget to overlook
what shows the other players book.H.O.R.S.E. is a play for the real master
but for the beginner a real disaster.
To be on top and have a feel,
you must be ready for any steel.
It’s not an average players show
and only the best can make chips grow.Badugi takes now in the color
and A to 4 will make the dollar.
All four colors you need to hold.
Otherwise, you better fold.
Four bet rounds and three to draw
makes complete Badugi law.5-card draw
is thee most raw,
with one exchange
for better range.
Get them,
bet them,
have good luck!
And if not, just fold and muck!My final words
for donks and nerds:There is no winter before the fall,
so skill is a must, in poker for all.
The birds don’t sing before the spring
so start to learn to beat the swing.
Learn how to bet and when you got beaten
learn how to eat and don’t get eaten.
Don’t depend on luck you ” ill ”
learn the rules and get some skill. -

I know I can beat the game. Thats why I deserve in the game. I was playing one time at the belagio, and Johhny Chan walks in. The whole room just stops, but I decide to sit with him. Just ten big blinds. I sit there for like an hour, fold, fold fold. Then I decide, I don’t care about the money. I’m just gonna play back at him. I look down at rags. Raise his big blind. He sighs like i’m some kind of tourist, and just re-raises. So I play back at him. Re-raise. He thinks for a minute. Then mucks. Did you have it he asks? I say, I don’t know john. And I walk right out.
I should play because I understand, that Rounders is the best movie ever

September 10th, 2010 at 9:08 pmWhy should you guys stake me? Well, I guess I’m out to prove to myself that I can be good at something again. I sat at my first money game two weeks ago where the buy in was 24 bucks for a shot at a 300 buck pot and a high hand bonus. Me and 16 other guys who have been been playing cards since a decade before I was even conceived. I was the first guy out, after catching a bad beat to an old man. Well, not to be kept down I decided to return the next week. They all laughed at my youth and smiled at my persistence, then stared in disbelief as I tightened up my game and came to the final 9 with more chips then anyone. They cheered as the same guy as last week caught me on another bad beat, I was suddenly on the bubble. In the end I walked away. Second place, smiling all the way as I earned newfound respect. The only guy to have more chips in the end? Yep, the old man who got lucky twice. Why should you stake me? Cuz I don’t give up. ~ JS8984

“Quit your job, sell your house, take all your money, and go to Las Vegas.”
She ignores the voice.Later in the day, she hears the voice again.
“Quit your job, sell your house, take all your money, and go to Las Vegas.”Again, she ignores the voice.
Soon she hears the voice every minute of the day.
“Quit your job, sell your house, take all your money, and go to Las Vegas.”She can’t take it anymore. She believes the voice.
She quits her job, sells her house, takes all her money, and flies to Las Vegas. As soon as she steps off the plane, the voice says, “Put all your money into a World Series of Poker (WSOP) entry.”
She puts up her $10,000 and buys an entry into the WSOP.
She goes to her assigned tournament table.
The first hand is dealt and the woman is dealt AsAd.The voice says, “Go all in.”
She pushes her entire $10,000 bankroll into the pot.
Three players call. The dealer lays down the flop which is 8h9h10h.
The voice says, “Oh Shit!.”
Moral of the story: Do not stake everything for poker, but use your intelligence to enhance your chances of having success as a poker player.

September 12th, 2010 at 8:32 pmPoker From The Rail should stake me into the ftops main event beacuse it is time for an old man to break through and finally win an online event against this younger generation.
Tourney after tourney I see these events being won by some teenager or twenty something youngster. I mean, who knew you could cash out with a high school ID? I always felt these youngsters had an edge as they have no real fear of being on the short end of a race and losing money. No bills to pay, no real life responsibilities leads to a so what attitude toward results.
Dollar sng’s and some timely freeroll wins have kept me playing for a few years now. In our household we just do not have any extra money for poker reloads so it is just micros and the such for me.
Providing the buy in would enable me to meet these youngsters on the same level as it is not my money to lose. My usual solid play mixed with the realization that I am essentially freerolling should lead to good representation for PFTR.Full Tilt ID: born2bafish
