Day 20 brings another No Limit Hold’em event at noon and a $10,000 World Championship at 5pm. There were lines running down the halls with players registering for today’s $2,000 No Limit Hold’em Event #32, the price is a little steeper so I expect players will not be busting at 5 per minute. Perhaps 4 per minute will be reasonable. Starting up in the Brasalia Room later today will be the big $10,000 Limit Hold’em World Championship. Another pro-heavy field including a bunch old time grinding rocks who made their chops playing Limit.
The $1,500 No Limit Hold’em event did not come close to reaching it’s final table nine keeping with the norm this year. 27 players return today for a long session to declare another bracelet winner.
The $10,000 Heads Up World Championship will bring back their final 8 players for a bracelet and $625,000 first place prize. Poker legend Johnny Chan will start the day just two matches away from tying Phil Hellmuth with his 11th World Series of Poker bracelet. This event has been an odd one to rail but I’ll be standing on the sidelines hoping to witness history.
Restarts today include the $2,500 Pot Limit Omaha and $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. tournaments. 61 players remain in the PLO event and lurking back in 23rd is Phil Ivey. Is there anyone at this point that wouldn’t put money on Ivey with 60 players between him and his third bracelet of the year? Also carrying the flag for Team Full Tilt will be John Juanda (9th), Ross Boatman (11th), Eli Elezra (15th), David Chiu (17th), and Andy Bloch (18th). The Pot Limit events seem to be the only ones to reach their final 9 on schedule so we’ll know by the end of the day if Ivey is in line to catch Erik Seidel in the bracelet standings.
Restarting chip counts after the jump:
