Poker From The Rail
a Poker Blog brought to you by Full Tilt Poker

Players have always been looking for ways to keep their mind busy during the long grind of WSOP tournaments. Table chatter, random prop bets, trash talking were somewhat replaced with the technological advances which brought along the iPod and various wee music players. Anything to drown out the constant clatter of chips or non-stop yapper to the left. Last year saw a drastic increase in smart phone usage combined with a large number of players involved in “social media”. Players in 2009 were splashed across Facebook/Twitter to send intermittent updates to their friends.
2010 has seen an even bigger jump in the utilization of Twitter as a marketing tool to reach fans. At this point you would be hard pressed to find a major poker professional who isn’t using some form of social media to promote their personal brand. That does not mean the information being dumped into internet-land 140 characters at a time isn’t worth your time. While some are simple updates on chip counts more of them are becoming a fun way to see how your favorite player is doing or feeling at that particular time. After the jump I listed some of our favorite twitter-using poker players as well as other resources available.
There is no doubt I will miss a few twitter accounts which are worth following, feel free to drop a comment with who else we should add to the list. This is just a small list of those poker twitter accounts which are updated on a regular basis.
Eye On The Pros – Full Tilt has been running a page for series coverage which has been updated throughout the 2010 World Series of Poker. It includes blog updates from various pros as well as a constant stream of their twitter feeds. I good jump off point to follow your favorite Full Tilt players.
FullTilt_WSOP – Obviously the first twitter account your should be following is FullTilt_WSOP which is maintained by yours truly. It is nothing spectacular but I am sending out updates as often as possible on different events and the status of whichever Full Tilt pros are involved (and some FTP online monsters). I’ll also be retweeting information which I deem essential knowledge to the poker fans following at home.
Erik Seidel – The Team Full Tilt member is one of most consistent poker players to use Twitter. Updates and some pretty funny content.
