Poker From The Rail

It’s been a while since anyone witnessed a performance like we saw last night on Full Tilt by Jordan “Jymaster11″ Young. By the wee hours of the morning he found himself with two major victories and a huge jump in bankroll. The last time I can recall a single player taking down two Sunday majors in one night was Mark “dipthrong” Herm two summers ago but Young did even better.
The two biggest payouts each Sunday on FTP are generally found in the $750,000 Guarantee and the early Sunday Brawl, both paying over $100,000 to first place and each a fantastic score on their own. Young started off his evening in fine fashion by making the Sunday Brawl final table, eventually defeating “log1c07″ to pad his roll by over $100,000. Just a few hours later the $750,000 Guarantee final table was formed, he was joined by Christian “da_professional” Iacobellis and J.C. “PrtyPsux” Alvarado. Before 5am this morning on the East Coast and Young had pocketed an additional $130,000 to complete his historic evening.
Young’s performance outshined another stellar performance on the evening by Adam “csimmsux” Geyer. The former FTOPS winner had a night that included a 10th place finish in the Sunday Brawl, 2nd place finish in the Sunday Mulligan, and a decent cash in the $200k rebuy. Matt “All In At 420″ Stout now seems to be making a habit of making the final table of the $200,000 rebuy. That tournament continues to be one of the more entertaining of the weekend with it’s large buyin/rebuy format. Small fields but stacked deep.
This week brings the start of FTOPS XVII on the 4th and sporting more than $19,000,000 in guaranteed prize money. The first tournament is a $200+$16 No Limit Hold’em tournament with a $750,000 prizepool. The FTOPS XVII Schedule can be found by clicking on the link and satellites are running throughout the day.
