BigLittle2 Big Money Sunday January 3rdAfter getting an expected “day off” last Sunday due to certain technical difficulties, this Sunday provided extra fun making up for my forced laziness. Yesterday brought the first of 4 events dubbed “The Big Little Tournament”. A $250,000 guarantee tournament for just a $5.50 buyin drew over 46,000 players and some of the most insane action ever. 46,000 players were whittled down to a winner in 9 hours of play which works out to over 5,000 eliminated each hour, 85 players every 60 seconds. Consider the play slowed down near the end and you get an idea of just how quickly things moved along in the early hours.

Full Tilt pro Karina Jett was the big name hanging in there near the end, coming up short in 28th but she did outlast 99.94% of the field. 7,500 players cashed in this event so you will forgive me for not going over the entire list. It was a great turnout for another promotion aimed at the lower bankrolled players and continue again next week at the same time. 13:45ET next time will make this event seem sane as that will bring us the Turbo version of “The Big Little Tournament”.

Another tournament which hit my radar yesterday was the $200,000 guarantee rebuy event. I may have to keep this one in my permanent rotation of tournament railbirding along with the Big Money Sunday events and $200k Double Deuce. With the $150 rebuy format it seems to attract a very pro-heavy field and some great action. This week we had Erica Schoenberg collect a cool $30,000 for her third place finish, Ryan “ryanghall” Hall was also at the final table and Dutch “Dutchalicious” Boyd finshed 10th as the final table bubble boy. Jon “Pearljammer” Turner was just another big name on the list out in 12th. Railbirds delight, we’ll see how it looks next week.

Mystery player “Str8Foward” continues his hot play over the last month with his 3rd place finish in the $750,000 Guarantee which is also his third 5-digit cash in less than a month. He even turned a $11 satellite into the $100,000 Guarantee into a $2,000 cash. If anyone has any information on this player, feel free to pass it along. I think I would like to have a conversation for the blog.

You can find the final table results after the jump. Don’t forget to sign up for next week’s “The Big Little Tournament” or hit up the super cheap satellites.
