Big Money Sunday brought together another 13,504 players competing for just shy of $1,500,000 in prize money including a monster $46k overlay in the $750,000 Guarantee. The Sunday Brawl final table featured two former FTOPS Champs, a couple pros went deep in the $750k and the Double Deuce continued it’s streak of selling out all seats and the lemur-loving play.
Details and results after the jump.
The afternoon kicked off with the Sunday Brawl, a $383,000 prizepool plus those $40 knockout bounties. When the final table was formed we found two former FTOPS Champs. GrampaJeff won FTOPS X Event #4 and OUSOONER24 was victorious in FTOPS VIII Event #17. GrampJeff added to his bankroll by winning the Sunday Brawl and collecting over $79,000.
The $100K Double Deuce was next up. Once again all 7,000 seats were sold out before the event started and things were fast and furious. It will be interesting to see how many seats will be sold if the max number of players is increased. Is a 10,000 player MTT a possibility? I was again stunned by some of the play but I keep reminding myself that it is only a $20 buyin tournament. It was amazing to see players consistently pushing 100BB or more stacks into the center preflop with not much to pick up. The railbird chatter is something that is becoming more annoying as the weeks go by.
The Double Deuce also had another deep run by MTT-killer blogger pvanharibo. LJ finished 21st in last week’s Double Deuce and improved to 16th this week. She went out on a sick hand that I won’t even attempt to describe. Just click the picture below to see what happened. The suckout king in the hand went on to win the tournament.
The $750,000 Guarantee came up well short on the number of players needed. Over $46,000 in overlay provided by Full Tilt. Several members of Team Full Tilt made deep runs in the big game including Bill Gazes, David “The Dragon” Pham, “Miami” John Cernuto, Lee Watkinson and Steve Brecher finishing a solid 19th.
Another successful Sunday with plenty of action and some crazy plays. Tonight brings the weekly $1,000 buyin game which will show us some big time players. Here are your final table numbers and results.

December 17th, 2008 at 2:05 pmI’m one of Maskavengas’ friends and calling his JJ a “suckout king” hand with a straight draw showing for him is pretty weak. I haven’t heard the whole story about how the betting went on that particular hand, but I do know that if both AA were all in after the flop they were just as easily busted with K9 or pocket QQ, 10, 6… Good lesson for anyone who thinks aces up are always good.
