Big Money Sunday – January 25th

The big story from this week’s Big Monday Sunday comes from an event that technically isn’t part of the 3 big Full Tilt Sunday major tournaments. When the $100k Double Deuce was first created the maximum number of players allowed in the event was relatively low with a monstrous waitlist. They increased the max players to 10,000 and we’ve been creeping in that direction ever since.

Last night we hit the magical number of 10,000 players in a $20 buyin event. That’s an incredible $200,000 prizepool for a very small buyin. As I’ve mentioned earlier, the structure is incredibly deep. As the players hit the final table, the small stack was sitting with 20 big blinds.

We had two Full Tilt red letter pros make separate big money final tables. Jordan Morgan final tabled the $750k Guarantee finishing in 3rd. Christian Kruel made his mark buy cashing in 6th of the Sunday Mulligan. Mark “The Omaholic” Roland won the $2,000 H.O.S.E. tournament at the 2009 Borgata Winter Poker Open on Saturday and made the final table of The Sunday Brawl Sunday evening.

- The Sunday Brawl had a prizepool over $450,000 and included Squirrely1 who has a Sunday Mulligan and $50k guarantee win under his belt. “dsindy” previously final tabled both FTOPS VI Event #10 and a $1k Monday event with days of each other. This week’s Sunday Brawl winner “Viktor” had a big score finishing second in FTOPS V Event #12 for just shy of $250,000.

- The $100k Double Deuce numbers were already mentioned. Chris “herdgolf86″ Tipper made the final table and mentioned that he will be playing in the 2009 Borgata Winter Poker Open Main Event later today. I will try to track his progress.

- The $750k Guarantee drew over 3,800 players and the final table included Full Tilt pro Jordan “iMsoLucky0″ Morgan. Chris “hattrick8810″ Odle also made a deep run and “Bluedog428″ made a nice profit by winning satellite to the tournament.

- There was a $242,000 prizepool for the The Sunday Mulligan, the last major of the day. Brazilian Full Tilt pro Christian Kruel battled his way through some tough hands but made his way to the final table and already had several big scores to his name. “th_IN_kB4Urail” has a second place finish in an August Sunday Mulligan, Chris “Moorman1″ Moorman has won the $1k Monday and this week’s winner “boykee” has final table the $750k Guarantee in the past.

The final numbers were 17,363 players and a prizepool of $1,672,000.
