At the dawn of online poker, it was practically impossible to arrange a private tournament on any of the sites. Iggy would spend countless hours working with sites that did not have the ability to have private events and were not terribly interested in doing so just to get a blogger tournament scheduled every few months. Obviously that all changed and now you can have you own private tournament in the amount of time it takes to write an email.

Popular actor, author, and blogger Wil Wheaton was one of the first to really run a large, regularly scheduled private blogger tournament and set the standard. These days you can look under the Private Tournament tab in the Full Tilt Poker game lobby and find pages full of private games. The blogger tournaments are more laid back than your standard multi-table tournament with the same buy-in, with plenty of banter between participants and generally better play. But, as with any blogger tournament, always beware of The Hammer.

Below is a short list of some of the regularly scheduled blogger tournaments here on Full Tilt Poker. Like my blogger list before, this is by no means a complete list of the available events. Each Friday I will do a blogger rundown and highlight some of the week’s activities. If you are hosting a blogger tournament that you would like to get on the list, feel free to drop me an email at Battleofthebloggers@fulltiltpoker.com. Plenty of opportunities exist to join the bloggers in their hosted games.

Tournament: LivePokerRadio Tour
When: Mondays at 22:00ET
Game: NLHE
Buy-in: $10 + $1
Password: boom

A brand new blogger tournament replacing the recently cancelled Mondays at the Hoy. Hoyazo ran a regular Monday game for the last several years to great success. This game was previously a $24+2 event that drew fewer participants but higher quality play. The replacement game will be run by Instant Tragedy and will kick off the week with some blogger fun.

Tournament: Blogger Skillz Game
When: Tuesdays at 21:30ET
Game: Regular rotation of non-NLHE (with knockouts)
Buy-in: $12 + $1
Password: skillz

Hosted by cemfrommd, this tournament is a weekly rotation of non-NLHE games. If you’re tired of the regular NLHE push monkey fests this is the game for you. It’s designed to challenge and test your abilities at other poker variances, and is an excellent way to improve your skills at the other games while still enjoying the personal feel of a private blogger tournament.

Tournament: The Mookie
When: Wednesdays at 22:00ET
Game: NLHE (with knockouts)
Buy-in: $12 + $1
Password: vegas1

The Mookie has become the hottest blogger tournament in the last few years. It consistently has some of the biggest fields and attracts all your favorite bloggers. Mookie himself generally runs a live blog during the event and posts a winner profile following the event. If there is one blogger tournament to play each week, this would be the one you do not want to miss.

Tournament: The Dookie
When: Wednesdays at 23:30ET
Game: NLHE turbo
Buyin: $5 + $.50
Password: vegas1

This game was originally set up to be a second chance tournament for those who were knocked out the Mookie early but has picked up steam with it’s turbo structure and west coast friendly time.

Tournament: Riverchasers Online Tour
When: Thursdays at 21:00ET
Game: Deep-stack NLHE
Buyin: $10 + $1
Password: riverchasers

This weekly game is run by one of the biggest donkeys on the internet (that would be my hand up in the air). The tournament has a deep-stack structure and plenty of soft money on a regular basis. The start time makes it tough on US West Coast players but we all know that East Coast players are weak/tight.

Tournament: Blogger Donkament
When: Fridays at 21:00ET
Game: NLHE with rebuys
Buyin: $1 + $1 with $1 rebuys
Password: donkarama

The king (or queen) of all poker therapy sessions. Have a rough week at the tables? Feeling a little stress after work driving you nuts? This is the game for you. The $1 rebuy format is the best way to unwind and let your brain rest for at least the first hour. Once the tournament starts you’ll want to click the auto-rebuy button, grab your favorite adult beverage, and enjoy the craziness. It’s a sure fire way to un-tilt yourself. Two tons of fun for very little coin.
