Team Full Tilt member Clonie Gowen outlasted the field to win the 2008 World Poker Open Championship in Tunica, MS.

107 players showed up in Tunica, MS to pony up $5,000 to play in the World Poker Open Championship at the Gold Strike Casino.  The final 9 would receive their share of the prizepool which topped $500,000.  After 8 hours of play, 2 of which were heads up, Gowen defeated BJ McBrayer holding Aces for the last hand.  She pockets $183,224 for her efforts.

The title continues her great run in 2008. Gowen had 4 WSoP cashes this summer and took down her first title of the year by winning the Bellagio Cup IV Event #5 in July.  The World Poker Open win takes her over $700,000 in tournament earnings for 2008 alone.  She is quickly closing on the magic number of $1,000,000 in career tournament earnings.
