One Angry Monkey One Angry Monkey

And so we commence with another round of everybody’s favorite question and answer session – Reader Mail is back. Since FTOPS VII is set to begin this evening and we are good little corporate shills, we thought it would be appropriate to pull out an all FTOPS post. Remember, these are real emails from real readers (we swear we aren’t making this up because we haven’t received a single email as of yet). If you want to get in on the fun and games, email us at pokerfromtherail@fulltiltpoker.com. On to the show:

What’s the deal with FTOPS, it’s seems like you guys run it almost every other week?

Excellent observation – I’ve heard that our goal in the future is to run FTOPS at least 36 times a year. Just kidding. I hope. In all seriousness, we run FTOPS four times a year because we really do believe that it’s the best online tournament series. If we only ran it once a year, would we really be any better than that other tournament series run by that other site? (Here’s a hint, it rhymes with WPOOP.) The answer is obviously and emphatically no. More always equals better (unless, of course, you’re referring to clothing on women). More FTOPS, more tournaments, more chances to win big and get yourself one of those shiny gold jersey avatars. FTOPS – it’s fantastic!

How does Full Tilt Poker decide which pros host which events?

It’s a scientific process which involves getting very drunk and throwing darts at cardboard cut-outs of all 3,000 of our pros. When a dart actually sticks to a pro, we then pull a number out of a hat and voila!

To be completely honest, I’m not sure what the process is for choosing pro hosts. I tried asking around the office, but everyone here ignores me and pretends that I don’t work here. My best guess is that the process isn’t completely random and there is some thought put into it. But what do I know? This stuff is way above my pay grade. Is it bad that they’re paying me in pesos?

What the hell is the Bouncebackability Freeroll? Are you guys high on crack or something?

The Bouncebackability Freeroll is the brainchild of one of the creative geniuses here at the office. It’s a very special prize for all the poor losers who finish any FTOPS events as the last person knocked out of the tournament who didn’t cash. AKA – the Bubble Boy. We were going to call it the Bubble Boy Freeroll, but that was a little too on the nose. So then one man stood tall, a great man if I may say so myself, and said let’s call it Bouncebackability. We’re not sure what that means or how to say it properly, but damn if it wasn’t just a kick-me-in-the-balls fantastic idea.

Some ideas are good, some ideas are great. But the Bouncebackability Freeroll was simply sheer genius.
