One Angry Monkey One Angry Monkey

Welcome to another installment of Reader Mail, where we answer actual questions from actual readers (we think). If you want your thoughts to be heard, please email us at pokerfromtherail@fulltiltpoker.com.

Do the pros really play on the site? When I see a red pro, how do I know it’s actually them playing?

Yes, when you see a red pro it’s actually them playing. Come on people, have a little faith. Do you really think Phil Ivey lets his wife or buddies sit down at the $500/$1,000 PLO tables using his account? It’s time to get real. Real money, real poker, real pros. Real talk.

What’s your favorite avatar on Full Tilt Poker? Which one do you use to play on the site?

Excellent question. To be honest, I wasn’t too into the avatars when I first started playing on Full Tilt Poker. I thought they were a little bit on the corny side and this is supposed to be a classy poker establishment. But I have to admit that they’ve grown on me with time.

Personally, I favor the monkey avatar at this time. I always switch it to have the angry face. Who doesn’t love an angry monkey? It reminds me of the angry monkey they have on “Family Guy” who lives in the kid’s closet and points at him in disgust from time to time. And anything “Family Guy” related is alright with me – gigitty. I used to prefer using the Marlon Brando avatar, but I was decidedly too uncool to pull that one off. I always felt like a poser.

My fellow bloggers have differing opinions on the matter. The Captain likes to go with the pirate avatar. My theory on this one is that it reminds him of Captain Morgan, and well, he’s a deadbeat drunk. Big Donkey uses the donkey avatar for obvious reasons. Can anyone else say “heehaw?”

Why are there so many Hit and Runs on Full Tilt Poker? I see it happen every day and it just annoys the hell out of me. For the love of god, do something about it!

I’ve never actually been involved in a Hit and Run. I had a close call once when I was driving after having a few too many and almost ran over this girl… What, you mean it’s a poker term as well? Who knew?

My editor has just informed me that a Hit and Run is when a player sits down at a ring game table, wins one big pot and then takes off. And according to this emailer, it also happens quite often. Well, that’s just disgusting. What kind of person would do something like that? Poker is a game for honorable people, not money grubbing whores. I’m outraged, and I’m not going to take this lying down in the sidewalk in a pool of my own blood. I’m going to use my considerable influence here at Full Tilt Poker and do something about this.

What? You mean I don’t have a considerable influence here? But I’m trying to fight the good fight. What do you mean there’s nothing we can do about Hit and Runs? It can’t just be a part of the game, that’s not fair. People – rally around my cause and we can end this Hit and Run business right now! I refuse to walk the streets with tread marks across my back…
