2009 wsop jordanmorgan Big Money Sunday February 27thAfter the last few weeks of crazy action on the Full Tilt tables it was nice to have a Sunday afternoon where the biggest prizepool was only $864,000. A week Double Guarantee Multi-Entry tournaments followed by two weeks of FTOPS XIX was enough to blow the doors off nearly a month of tournaments. That doesn’t mean we didn’t see plenty of action across the major tournaments of the day including a nice double-double by a couple big names in the game.

Full Tilt pro Jordan Morgan and Penn State University student Eric “Avril Sharapova” Ladny started their great run as part of a star studded final table in the $200,000 Guarantee (rebuy) tournament along with Kory “s00tedj0kers89″ Kilpatrick, Dan “imabigkidnow” Kelly, and Chad “CHADda2ND” Eveslage. Both came up short of the title with Ladny losing the heads up battle but collecting over $46,000 for his efforts. A few hours later and things were getting interesting in the Sunday Mulligan when both Morgan and Ladny were still alive with two tables remaining. They once again made the final table for the fun twist of the evening and were joined by Tim “highlandfox” Finne in the final four of the tournament. This time around Ladny would not settle for a second place finish, completing the win for another $56,000. For his part, Jordan Morgan finished 5th in the $200,000 Guarantee and 4th in the Sunday Mulligan.

While we’ve had a relatively quiet week, it’s time to start ramping up the excitement for MiniFTOPS XIX which kicks off in just a few days. Satellites are underway for the $8,000,000 Guarantee series built for the smaller bankroll players, same big tournaments for just 1/10th of the FTOPS buyin. Event 1 kicks off on Sunday, March 6th.
