Phil Ivey stands for the U.S. National Anthem during his bracelet ceremony
(Photographer/GreasieWheels)
Just in case you were living under a rock away from the poker over the last week, Phil Ivey captured his 8th career WSOP bracelet in the $3,000 HORSE event over Bill Chen. It was an interesting spectacle with a different atmosphere than the “durrrr” final table a few ago, this final table was stuck our little corner of the Amazon Room without the fan fare or big stadium seating of the main stage.
Two days later Ivey returned to the Pavilion Room for his bracelet ceremony followed by wide open press conference. The picture about was taken by the official WSOP photographer (with creative credit going to B.J. Nemeth) and is something special. You can click the image for the full size picture, it should give you a small feel for the number of people who jammed into the room to see history. Ivey and WSOP TD Jack Effel were joined on stage by Jack Binion.
The rest of the week was full of drama, fun, and of course the continuing parade of Perry Friedman’s hats. You can find just some of our the pictures our very own HeatherB snapped over the last few days. Enjoy after the jump.

I’m not sure if it’s me or the room, but things are dragging a bit in the Amazon Room today. I’m sure it’s me and a bunch of players I saw out and about last evening. I was super sneaking and crashed a competitor’s WSOP party last evening, it was my little contribution to the effort as I attempted to their players to stay up late and enjoy too much liquid entertainment.
This was after destroying their team in the Dream Team Poker Media Charity tournament. I didn’t do so much destroying, it was actually my teammates since I was the first out for our team.
These are the things I bring to the team.
As it stands, we’re down to just above 1300 players as we kick into Level 12 of the Main Event. That means just roughly over half the remaining players will have a disappointing walk home while the rest will cash at the cages. Phil Ivey was moved right along the rail near the door and is getting himself a lot of attention from fans and the ESPN cameras. Causing even more congestion on the rail is legendary Phil Hellmuth at the very next table. Ivey has been chipping up throughout the day and is continuing his hot run with around 430,000 at this time.
Less talking and more pictures. These are some pictures from Day 2b when several FTP pros made a run. The first picture is of the aforementioned Phil Ivey with our favorite Amazon Room masseuse, Sugar Lips. That’s the name she goes by, don’t blame me. The rest of the pictures after the jump.

Another week has gone by at the 2009 World Series of Poker and things are starting to ramp up. Full Tilt was unable to add to it’s collection of WSOP bracelets but FTP blogger Michael Craig and pro Vitaly Lunkin both put in second place showings. The week started with the NHL Stanley Cup coming to the Amazon Room and ending with the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. kick off. The schedule was lighter than the first three weeks but there was plenty of action to capture.
I present to you the week in pictures from the Full Tilt angle.
The first is by far my favorite photo from the 2009 World Series of Poker. Photographer extraordinaire BJ Nemeth has been capturing some incredible images this year. This photo was taken from atop the bracelet ceremony stage as Phil Ivey picked up his 7th World Series of Poker bracelet. It illustrates the massive amount of players, fans, and media Ivey draws to any event. Click to enlarge and enjoy. More images after the jump.

With the 2009 WPT World Championship going on at the Bellagio in Las Vegas, queen of the WPT Amanda Leatherman sits down with the top players during breaks for short, informal video interviews. I’ll be posting some of them over the next few days so you can get some inside info on your favorite players. They have a bunch from the Full Tilt pros and I’ll start with two of my favorites.
After the jump you can find interviews with Erica Schoenberg talking about beer pong and Kristy Gazes discussing many things.

Welcome back to another round of the Full Tilt Poker Heads-Up Challenge. This week we have another 2 versus 15 match-up as Phil “If I have to announce another stupid celebrity poker tournament I’m going to kill myself” Gordon takes on Kristy “My ex-husband can’t kick a football” Gazes. After our first big upset in the challenge last week the only question is, will history repeat itself? Only time will tell. And me. Because I write these and get to decide…
At any rate, you can check out the full bracket below. On to the match:
