Before being recognized by the professional poker community as the game’s foremost mindset coach, Sam was best known for his work with business professionals, celebrities and pro athletes. He has since become known to players as a mentor they rely on to help improve their poker game or recapture winning ways.
One of his most famous poker clients, Josh Arieh, worked with Sam following a barren run in major tournaments. Arieh final tabled two of the three tournaments played in the first months under Chauhan’s coaching regimen, recording a second place finish in the 2009 $15K Five Diamond World Poker Classic for over $950K.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sam is no stranger to the felt of the poker table and has played the game since 2008. He plays both tournaments and cash games, specializing in short-handed No Limit Hold ‘em. Sam counts both Mike “The Mouth” Matusow and Gavin Smith among the players who have had the greatest influence on him.
Away from the tables, Sam is a martial arts enthusiast, specializing on Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. He is also dedicated to helping the homeless move off of the streets and find jobs.
