Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, Gus Hansen could be considered the "elder statesman" of The Professionals at Full Tilt Poker, being the only member to have played his first hand in the 1990s.

Before winning fame and fortune as a poker superstar, "The Great Dane" made a living playing backgammon, and is still considered one of the best players in the world. He is also known for his keen interest in tennis and racquetball. However, it was his exploits at the tables that caught the imagination of the poker playing public.

During a breakout 12-month period between May 2002 and April 2003, Gus captured three WPT titles, establishing himself as one of the top players on the tournament scene. He has won a total of four WPT titles, a WSOP bracelet, the Poker Million IX crown and an Aussie Millions Main Event title, recording more than $11 million in career tournament earnings.

Gus shook up the world of poker with his innovative "new-school" style – playing hands that others would fold, he out-thought, out-maneuvered and out-played his more conservative opponents. Never afraid to make a big call with a medium-strength hand, or a big bluff with air, his exciting and constantly evolving style has influenced numerous players, many of whom have copied his loose-aggressive approach.

As one of the most well-respected and well-liked players in modern poker, he continues to thrill and entertain fans whenever he sits down to play.
