Yueqi 'Rich' Zhu plays online at Full Tilt Poker.

Yueqi “Rich” Zhu grew up in mainland China where he worked as an engineer for two years at the Institute of Computer Application in the China National Nuclear Corporation. He then moved to the US to complete a PhD, eventually settling in California. Rich was a successful Blackjack player, and was unexpectedly introduced to poker through a Blackjack forum post by poker writer David Sklansky. Immediately interested, Rich used his Blackjack winnings to start playing poker in 1996 using Internet Relay Chat. He developed his skills by playing IRC ring games and patiently built his bankroll using careful money management.
Rich soon transferred the skills he’d honed online to live poker, moving up to high-stakes ring games in local casinos within a few months. When it comes to tournaments, he only plays at the World Series of Poker, where he has reached three final tables and cashed nineteen times in total. His first and biggest cash to date was at the 2006 WSOP when he placed 2nd in the $3,000 Limit Hold 'em event for over $180K. He then went on to place 6th in the $1,500 Omaha Hi/Lo Split 8 or Better WSOP event the following year for over $30K. In 2008, he had a 4th place finish and won more than $63K in the $2,500 Omaha/Seven-Card Stud Hi/Lo event.
Outside of poker, Rich enjoys Chinese chess, Go, Bridge, Blackjack, Mahjong and many other card and board games. He also enjoys soccer and golf.
